Becoming a Widow or Widower puts you in a spot you never wanted to occupy.  Some call it the “Club” they never wanted to join.

Membership in L.O.S.S. is meant to help take some of the sting out of the journey through grief which begins at the loss of a spouse.  L.O.S.S. is the “Club” that can help a grieving spouse face the future head-on.

No-Charge Membership.  Membership in L.O.S.S. is at no charge to the Member.  A small fee may be charged to help fund the social events or other programs.  Affordable Events and Activities are made possible by generous gifts from Support Partners of L.O.S.S.

Membership Eligibility: Membership of L.O.S.S. is exclusively for those who have lost their spouse by death.

For purposes of membership in L.O.S.S., a “spouse” is a person, whose relationship with their deceased spouse, was considered to be a marriage relationship under the law of the state where the spouses were residing at the date of the death of the deceased spouse.

Joining L.O.S.S. involves making a Request to Join. When the Request to Join is received, a L.O.S.S. representative will contact you to answer any questions and to confirm your membership. A Request to Join can be initiated by filling out the fillable form below and submitting it electronically. A membership inquiry can also be made by a phone call to the L.O.S.S. office at (816) 343-4898 to discuss membership with a L.O.S.S. representative.
